Review: I am just getting started with this air fryer but love it so far. The temp probe will be a huge help in getting my meats just right. Made chicken thighs using the temp probe and loved knowing when they were done but not overdone. Crispy & juicy without having to check constantly. Much easier to clean than my last one that had a basket within a basket. I just pour out any grease and run soapy water in the basket while I eat.

Title: Things others don’t mention
Review: Everyone I know who has an Air Fryer raves about it. Everything you’ve read about this particular 1 is true. The door & trays are fragile, but if you know this in advance, simply brace your thumb to open the door-do not yank on it & don’t slam it to close it. You MUST use a potholder to remove food, never rest anything on the tray once you’ve pulled it out b/c it WILL fall on the floor. I imagined a toaster oven w/the speed of a microwave. NOT. Basically, it’s a large toaster oven w/air heat, the unit (except for the top) gets as hot as an oven. Also, there is no time saved; Frozen french fries still take about 7 minutes whether you fry or air-fry them. The cooking time equals that of an oven. The surprise for me is that the hot air that swirls around inside, forcefully shoots out the back of the unit, which therefore cannot be close to a wall, or I imagine it will eventually warp the paint on your wall – or potentially be a fire hazard. This one is TALLER not WIDER. I situated mine on a slant and since I happened to have a rotating tower fan within 5 ft, I turn it on to deflect that hot air around & away from the wall. It produces less heat than an oven in the same timeframe, and unlike an oven, there is no long period of a heated-up room, once the unit is off. It cools off pretty fast. If you have an electric stove, it’s all on the electric bill. But if you have a gas stove and cook in the electric air fryer instead, it’s now ALL on your electric bill. So with a gas stove, the benefits of an air-fryer is ONLY to cook without oil, warm-up something that was (or would’ve been) fried or, something previously baked which you want crispy instead of saucy, i.e., turkey wings-that’s if you don’t want to transfer the expense from your gas bill to your electric bill. Warming up food otherwise is faster in the microwave. PRACTICE ON FRENCH FRIES. I tossed my deep fryer. Overall, it’s worth it’s counter space, although I see now that the newer stoves include air-frying capability. Probably worth the extra cost.

Title: Top-notch air frying but lacks longevity
Review: Edit: I’m downgrading my review due to the number of issues I’ve had with this device. Customer service was mostly good although they sent me a bad part once. But the blower fan died right at the 6-month mark. Fortunately, I was still just barely within the warranty window but if this had happened in a week or two I’d be totally out of luck. I did a LOT of research before buying and from what I could tell every unit on the market has reliability issues like this. But the software on this one is clearly buggy. It has been unpredictable in cooking outcomes more often than not. I use it every night to cook my dog’s dinner and some nights for my own and over time I confirmed 100% for sure that using the same settings would cause the machine to behave differently on different days. If I was able to find a pattern I would have sent it back months ago, but it was too unpredictable. I just can’t recommend this device after giving it a very, very fair shot. At the same time, I’m not sure there’s anything better out there. So much better and quieter than the Ninja Foodi I was using and light years beyond these little toaster oven fryers. If you air fry a lot of stuff you can’t go wrong. Will fit half a 12 or 14 lb turkey (cooking light and dark meat separately) or 4-5 chicken breasts easily. You can really dial in meals you cook regularly, it is very precise. The only issue was that the metal riser was a bit flimsy and one of the legs came halfway detached within the first month of owning it. I contacted their support and it was fairly easy to get a replacement shipped out after providing a receipt and a photo of the issue. The probe is an excellent addition I didn’t think I’d use much at first.
