Title: Almost perfect, but expensive.

Review: Genius. Precise temperature control. It’s so convenient, and well designed. It very quickly goes to the set temperature, and stays there. I use to use an infrared thermometer, to measure the pan temperature. It worked, but this is much more convenient and accurate. The temperature probe works good too. As noted in a few other reviews, the induction area is medium sized. For the price, it could be bigger (like my induction stove top). But it’s not a big problem, I use a high quality (thick) pan, that distributes the heat, pretty well. The only big down side, is the insanely high price. I used camelcamelcamel, and got notified of a sale. It was still very expensive, but worth it, because of how well it works, and how much I use it.

Title: This is a great investment.

Review: There is a big difference between a cheaper product as an induction stove and this one. Although there are good and bad things about the cheaper induction stoves. This would be my first. I was doing extensive research because many of the induction stoves that I researched had so many problems. One of them is the induction stove will get too hot or the portable stove won’t last too long. So I narrowed it down to this one, being I love Breville as a brand. As I have several of their products. It last and last. The only downside I could see is the pot or pan you’re using has to compatible with induction stove. Also, from what I was reading from other reviewers, it needs a heavy pan. I own an All-Clad 12″ pan and it work just fine. I’m getting different sized pots and pans by All-Clad so I’m eager to try this out. One thing, past reviewers mentioned about the pan having a humming noise or some high pitched noise when you dial it to whatever setting, low, medium, medium high, etc. I heard no such noises while heating the pan. This has to do with All-Clad D3. So, maybe I was lucky, but, I will try it once I receive my newer pots and pans and see what happens. It heats up much faster than the regular stove. Also, I can see the induction stove (full sized stove) being just as quick. What’s so cool is the way it heats the pan only and keeps the surface outside of the pan cool to touch. Also, I love that it’s consistent at the setting I select and don’t have to worry about the temperature increasing or decreasing on me. Another thing is, it comes with a probe to get an accurate temperature and that’s cool as well. I can see many different uses for this.I will update if I discover other things I like about this. Yet, one thing is for sure. I’m expecting this product to last me years and years to come. Bonus is, it comes in it’s own bag and it’s molded especially for this product so you can conveniently tuck this away and not having to worry to damage this by leaving it out in the open.

Title: I will never willingly go without this product

Review: Most ranges allow you to set the power output by a heat element. Achieving a specific temperature requires the cook’s constant monitoring & power adjustments. By contrast, this Breville Induction Burner allows you to set a temperature for the pan. Using a temperature sensor, it automatically adjusts the element’s power. Once that temp is achieved, you’re notified, and you have the option to use a timer. To highlight how different this device is, consider the following tasks:1) Boiling milk. Set the temp to 205°F. Once achieved, set a time. You can adjust the temp up or down while the timer counts down.2) Making Lemon Curd. My recipe requires bringing a mixture to 170-175°F for 10 minutes.3) Making candy that requires a mixture heated to “soft crack” or “hard crack”4) Sous Vide. Cook a food by suspending it in a waterproof container in water held at a specific low temp for a loooong time.5) Stove-top braising of meat or veggies. Use one temp for browning your meat. Ease down the temp to get a slow simmer for the braising.Taking on these tasks with most common ranges is tedious. (or with sous vide, near impossible) This Breville induction burner does these easily. All other induction burners pale by comparison.

Title: If You Are a Control Freak Then this is For You

Review: This induction cooktop is so over the top but compared to all the cheap models it leaves them in the dust. Heat control to the degree, easy to use and clean I think this makes you a better cook especially if you are not a professional. Being able to dial a temperature takes the guess work out of cooking and removes the error that comes with gas or electric cooktops when you overshoot your temperature.Update February 2024: I’ve been using this instead of the electric cooktop in our apartment for going on six months. So much better to use. Today I used it for sous vide steak and it worked great, as well as I managed with the Anova immersion heater. Even programmed the temperature and duration. When done I used the Control Freak to sear the steak.
