Title: Much closer to “Professional” than “Semi-Pro”
Review: Just to make sure we’re on the same page, there seem to be reviews of different Locaro models here. I am reviewing the Semi-Professional which does not have an sBox (i.e., there’s no long hose when you pull the spray head out), and the spray head clips onto a crossbar and has a heavy spring wrapped around its neck. It’s a disservice, in a way, to call this “Semi-Pro”. As a person who has spent his entire working life in restaurants, commercial food companies, and test kitchens, I can’t see much of a real difference between this faucet and what I have used in commercial settings. Certainly, for as much as this will be used in a household setting, I’d say that it should last as long as your house does. I’m not sure but it’s possible, and this is just my opinion, that Hansgrohe took a professional model and reduced the price so that they could sell it as a household item. Without a microscope, I cannot see any difference between this and a “Pro” or commercial model. It’s a beautiful piece, and I’m glad that we got the Stainless Steel Optic version. It looks fantastic, very much like the brushed nickel that we usually prefer. From the moment that you pull this out of the box, you realize how solid, and industrial it is. Compared to other faucets we’ve installed, I’d say that this weighs at least 15% more than them, and we only use quality faucets in our houses. The single valve on the faucet body controls the flow and the temperature, so it’s extremely easy to set. The valve on the spray head moves easily and changing from needle to aerated spray requires only a modest touch. The instructions suggest that you hire a plumber to install this faucet. If you are replacing an existing faucet, and if you can squeeze into the area below your sink, save yourself the cost and install this yourself. The only tools required are a slot and Phillips head screwdrivers, and an adjustable or 9mm wrench. That’s it. The instructions also call for a 1.5” hole; most openings in the US are 1 3/8”, but this will slide in just fine, no worries. The hoses, wrapped in steel, are marked for hot and cold so just pull out your old faucet, drop this one in, attach the hoses, and using the clamp provided, screw it to the bottom of the counter. Voila, you have a beautiful new faucet. If you’re concerned that there is no sBox or the spray hose that you might be used to, don’t worry. We have a large sink and the spray reaches every corner. You will love this faucet, and if you’re not used to this quality once you use this you’ll never buy a standard builders faucet again. Highly recommended. Title: I wanted to love this – twice! Poor compression fittings?
Review: On the first one, the head blew off the hose, after about a month.Water everywhere. Local distributor took it back The second one came from Amazon. Slightly different build/internals. The hose blew off the valve body, also about a month in. Water everywhere, ceiling included this time 🙂 The screen was clean, no buildup, plus we have a house water filtration system; the water is clean. Been using HansGrohe for years, this is a major disappointment as I am a ‘you get what you pay for type’, and these aren’t inexpensive. I want to give this 5 stars for a great looking and feeling product, obviously beautifully designed and feels great in the hand. However, the random blow-off feature is not desired.

Title: A stunning faucet…
Review: If it’s possible for a kitchen faucet to be worth more than $500, this one is. And yes, I know that $664 is not exactly the highest end of the kitchen faucet spectrum, but as you head north of $500 you get less utility for your money and more design, making the highest end faucets status symbols as much as kitchen tools. This is a beautiful single-hole faucet. The hexagonal base ascends to a round upper arm that can be moved to different areas of the sink. The valve handle is BIG and solid. Valve action feels precise and almost viscously damped. The end of the faucet arm can be pulled out for use as a sprayer. There is a riser at the top of the faucet arm which looks kind of strange, but there’s a purpose for the bump. It holds a secondary easily-operated on-off valve which by the slight touch of a finger shuts off and restarts flow through the faucet when the lower main valve is on. Water temperature is regulated solely by the main valve. Supply lines are braided and integrated into the base. The base rests directly on the countertop by means of an hidden rubber gasket that avoids the necessity of a separate base/foundation to keep water from leaking under the sink. The finish of this faucet is a fine polished nickel which looks like chrome, but with a slightly warm, golden cast to it. The gold cast is less obvious in person than in the product pictures in my opinion. hasngrohe’s warranty is a bulletproof lifetime warranty on all fixtures. hansgrohe is a highly regarded German designer and manufacturer of quality kitchen and bathroom fixtures. In 2010 Masco, the American building supply company, purchased a majority stake in hansgrohe. A third of hansgrohe shares remain in Grohe family hands, two-thirds are owned now by Masco. Masco also owns fixture manufacturers such as Peerless, Delta, Brizo and Axor. hansgrohe is fine quality, though not top-of-the-line, in fixtures. The difference between hansgrohe and the most expensive manufacturers such as Brizo will not be found in hardware quality, but in design. hansgrohe hardware and finishes are simply top-notch.
