Title: and the Blendtec appears to be a better, more elegant design

Review: I never thought I would spend nearly $300 on a blender, but this one is worth every penny.I compared Blendtec to Vitamix, but even the shortest regular Vitamix would not fit under our kitchen cabinets, and the Blendtec appears to be a better, more elegant design. It has an 8 year warranty to both the base and jar, one more year than Vitamix. It is also more ergonomic: the control buttons face upward, and all the switchgear, save the on/off switch in the back, are sealed, thus protected from spills and easier to clean. The 5 sided, “wildside” jar is high-quality polycarbonate, light, with clear English and Metic volume markings on the side. It works amazingly well. You never have to push anything down to the blades, the asymmetrical vortex created by the 5 sides and the blades turns and churns anything and everything you put in there. The vortex created is amazingly strong and violent, moving not just around in a horizontal circle, but up and down in a kind vertical plunging wave. The blades are dull, which seems counter-intuitive, but again, they work amazingly well. They appear to be like airplane wings with winglets, and they suck whatever is in the jar with great force downward toward them. Thus whatever is in the jar is completely and utterly pulverized and blended within seconds. Even slick fruit skins, like cherry skins, are blended to the tiniest particles. The hardest, purest ice is blended completely fine, no crunchy particles at all. Smoothies are really, really smooth, as smooth or smoother than the ones blended professionally at smoothie shops. The motor is very powerful. It feels important to press the top of the jar onto the base at the beginning of a cycle because the torque of the motor and the blades is so strong it feels like it could knock the jar off the base, although maybe not. I’m afraid to try. Once it does the initial mash of the big ingredients then it feels safe to take your hand off. The blender itself is not that noisy, but because of it’s power, with big ingredients in the jar it does make a lot of noise. The blade assembly attaches to the base with a direct metal sprocket connection, very solid, no possibility of slippage. All the power gets to the blade assembly which does its work with startling alacrity. An amazing, well-designed product which I hope will provide years of service.

Title: This Blender Rocks!

Review: As a long time juicer I got weary of the time to prepare and clean up using a high end juicer (Breville). It also bugged me I’m throwing allot of stuff away. Wanting to keep my diet healthy I decided to give this Blendtec a shot. The reviews were good and I did not want to drop extra coin on a Vitamix and the Bullets and Ninjas seemed like toys.I got a “refurbished” Blendtec that looked brand new. After a week of using this blender on steroids I’m never going back to juicing. First off the time to make a health smoothie is minutes and the clean up is less than a minute – rinse it out and your done. This thing can handle frozen fruit and carrots and kale are totally obliterated into a healthy drink. The little recipe book is great and my kids will drink anything I make out of it – they hear that bad boy start up and they are in the kitchen. I go through allot less produce and the taste is awesome. Pretty simple to make stuff: Put the water / juice in first, fresh veggies and fruit next, then frozen stuff on top. Push the smoothie button and one minute later done! Well worth the $$.

Title: It makes a fine smoothie (frozen fruit

Review: I had to give my mom back her VitaMix…so I debated getting the Blendtec or getting my own Vitamix. For $219.00 the Blendtec was my choice. I have only used it for making smoothies with frozen fruit from Costco. It makes a fine smoothie (frozen fruit, coconut water that’s about it…I haven’t ventured into adding green stuff to my breakfast). It is SUPER loud AND you most definitely have to put your hand on top of the lid before you start it up–it will leap off the counter and the lid will for SURE fly off if you don’t. That might not be the case if you are not using frozen fruit. One of my complaints about the Vitamix is that I often had to stop blending and use the tamping stick to get the mixture unstuck. I haven’t had to use a stick for the Blendtec, but I have had to add liquid to my smoothie because it won’t keep going. I haven’t tried any of the other things I saw the demo-guy do at Costco (blend wheat, make ice cream etc…)–but it seems to do what I want it to, make a smoothie.

Title: Works well.

Review: It works well. I purchased this one because it has the ability to pulverize tomato seeds and other seeds, which makes my food preserving quicker. And makes great smoothies too. It is Incredibly loud. And expensive! The jars are good quality, and also INCREDIBLY EXPENSIVE! And did I mention it’s LOUD and EXPENSIVE! However, so far it’s doing a great job.Would I recommend? For quality yes. For price, I’m not so sure. If it last 20 years, I’d say, definitely purchase one.

Title: Great product with great customer service

Review: This is a great blender. This is the second one we’ve purchased. it’s a gift for a family member. I’ve had mine 6 years. Blendtec has great customer service. We contacted them because after 6 years of use the seal at the bottom of the jar started to leak. I contacted Blendtec by emailand explained the problem. The next morning I had an email that a new jar was on the way. 2 days later I was back in business.I love being able to just push the smoothie or soup button and it just works I don’t have to monitor it and keep adjusting like I did with the vitamix that it replaced.

Title: Soooo Loud!

Review: We have had this for several years now. It blends well but it’s so loud in a decibel level that can cause long term damage to hearing with chronic exposure. I put ear plugs in before using it but I know most people don’t. Can’t they do something to muffle the noise?

Review: Pricey, of course, but really an excellent blender. I bought it for my wife (yes, I’ve a romantic) and she loves it. It’s very powerful and makes great smoothies. The dull blades (by design) are very easy to clean and you don’t have to worry about sharpening them. Very happy with it.
